Hi there...my name is Patrick Donahue, and I am the guitarist, singer, and principal songwriter for the Rust Tones. Thanks for visiting our site. We’re a band made up of longtime musicians who recorded and toured extensively in our previous lives. These days we are middle-aged, and most us are married with chilluns, but we still like to get our jam on once a week or so. For now, we play about half original and half cover material. We’re hoping to establish ourselves as an all-original band, but we don’t yet have enough of a cult following to move into the strictly original clubs. You can help us with this by dropping by a Rust Tones show every now and then. You’ll hear some funky blues, some R-&-B, some rootsy country, and some jam-band excursions, and you’ll likely want to get up and dance.

This is my page, so I’ve posted various personal projects and weird things here. I’d love to hear your feedback, you can send me an e-mail at i n f o @ r u s t t o n e s . c o mmailto:info@rusttones.com?subject=the%20Rust%20Tonesshapeimage_2_link_0

Letter to D’art

A few years ago I was asked to write a letter of advice for a collection that

a friend was compiling for his son. My response is posted here

Acid Jazz

A few odd-ball instrumentals created late at night in my home project studio, which we affectionately call “The Bakery.” That’s me on guitar and keys, everything else you hear are loops and/or samples I edited in GarageBand.

Many Flowers

An art project created by my son, Jude, at age 6.

The vase is pattern he cut out, the rest he painted.

The Secret in the Suitcase

A short movie I created in November 2004 , just after Halloween and

the Presidential Election. Features my sons, Jude and Maxwell,

the music is “Dreadmonboogaloo” by ZZ Top.
